(Bhopal Maytiv Workshop: 2-6 July’18) The Rajya Anand Sansthan engages Maytiv group from Herzliya, Israel for a five day Positive Psychology School Intervention Program for secondary and middle school teachers. Maytiv –which means ‘doing good’ in Hebrew language- was established in Israel by Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, a Positive Psychology lecturer whose course at Harvard University was one of the largest enrolled courses there. Funded by Rekhi Foundation USA, the Bhopal workshop and training course was organized by Rajya Anand Sansthan - in collaboration with Maytiv Center for the Research and Practice of Positive Psychology, School of Psychology, Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. The inaugural session of the Workshop on 2nd July, was chaired by ACS Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and special guest- Principal Secretary School Education- Smt. Deepti Gaur Mukherjee was also present. Dr Ruchira Agrawal introduced the distinguished guests and trainers while anchoring the session and Ms Tali Seidmen Bourla , the trainer from Israel, spoke about the Maytiv Center and its programs. Maytiv, is an academic center for the research and practice of programs in the field of positive psychology.  It was established in 2010 at IDC Herzliya, Israel by Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar. The Center operates under the School of Psychology, headed by Prof. Mario Mikulincer, Dean of the School and internationally renowned developmental psychologist. It was established to assist individuals, groups, and sectors in the community by applying and making the knowledge that the academic world has accumulated in the field of positive psychology accessible to the public. The purpose of this workshop in Bhopal was to familiarize and train MP school teachers with the practical concepts of positive psychology. This workshop was to energize and inspire the teachers and to instill such skills in them which are needed to create an environment of positivity in schools and among students. The Anand department aims to enhance the wellbeing of students by making positive psychology a culture in schools of MP. A total of 15 sessions were held during the course of the 5 day workshop (3 sessions per day) and it was a 32 credits course. 25 middle/high school teachers from 8 districts of MP participated in this workshop.
